Landmark PBO Week Celebrations to Feature Launch of Annual PBO Sector Report
The Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority is set to lead the PBO sector and stakeholders in celebrating PBO Week 2026 from 13–18 April, 2026, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) and across the five regions in Eldoret, Garissa, Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nakuru.
The celebration will feature a high-level simultaneous launch of PBO Week 2026 and the Annual PBO Sector Report 2024/2025 at the KICC. This will be followed by a three-day exhibition at the same venue and a week-long exhibition and related activities in the regional offices.
PBO Week is the Authority’s flagship annual partnership event, anchored in celebrating, connecting, and collaborating with Public Benefit Organizations (PBOs). It serves as a premier national platform for the sector to showcase the critical role, impact, and contribution of PBOs in Kenya’s development agenda. The event also provides an important opportunity for multi-stakeholder engagement, intersectoral collaboration, partnership building, and knowledge exchange.
This year’s PBO Week is unique, as it marks the first event under the new law — the PBO Act, 2013 — which commenced in May 2024. It comes at a time when the PBO Regulations, 2026, have just been gazetted to fully operationalize the Act and transition the sector into the new regulatory regime. For this reason, PBO Week 2026 has been aptly themed “A New Dawn in Action: Celebrating Impact, Connecting Voices, Collaborating for Transformation under the PBO Act”.
The Authority invites PBOs, national and county governments, development partners and donor agencies, private sector organizations, academic institutions, the media, and the general public to participate in this important celebration. The event aims to highlight the role of PBOs in Kenya, promote awareness of the transformative impact of the PBO Act, and foster dialogue and partnerships among PBOs, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
All PBOs are encouraged to take part in the event.
